Hunter Pence homered and drove in three to lead Houston over Washington, 6-4, their first win ever at Nationals Park. Wandy Rodriguez worked 5-1/3rd innings to get the win although he allowed four runs. Chris Sampson, Geoff Geary and Jose Valverde held the fort to preserve the victory.
Carlos Lee had three hits while Lance Berkman drove in a pair to assist the Saturday effort. The defense also turned four double plays.
Sunday afternoon will mark the final game before the All-Star Break. Brandon Backe (5-9) toes the rubber in a 12:35 Central start against lefthander Odalis Perez (2-6). Afterwards, Lance Berkman and Miguel Tejada will travel up the coast to New York City to take part in the 2008 All-Star Game.
