Loretta: Double your pleasure...

Mark Loretta spanked three doubles and drove in four to lead a 6-1 victory over Atlanta Saturday night. Chris Sampson made a bid to get his old starter's job back, allowing just two hits and one run over five innings. Tim Byrdak, Doug Brocail and Jose Valverde took it the rest of the way. Sampson may be able to stay in the rotation a little longer than anticipated since Roy Oswalt's hip injury has flared up.
Ty Wigginton made an unlikely start as a leadoff hitter. Although he didn't get a hit, he walked twice and scored once. Wigginton is one of the best players on the team in on-base percentage, perhaps explaining why the pudgy third-sacker got the first slot in the batting order.
Sunday's finale in Atlanta will feature lefthander Wandy Rodriguez (3-3) dueling rookie Charlie Morton (1-2) in a 12:30 Central start. After that, it will be on to Pittsburgh for our second look at the Pirates.
