For a team the Astros swept out in Los Angeles, the Dodgers got their revenge taking three straight in Houston, including Thursday's 5-2 contest at Minute Maid Park.
Chad Billingsley won his fourth straight while Brandon Backe fell to 5-9. A three-run first was enough for the Dodgers to carry to victory. The Astros, who are now 5-30 in games this year when they score three runs or less, got a two-run double in the fifth from J.R. Towles but were otherwise unable to dent the scoreboard. Lance Berkman suffered another oh-for-4 performance, dropping his batting average to .353.
The Astros hope to regroup on the road this July 4th in Atlanta, a place that is rarely kind to them. Brian Moehler (4-3) will try to be the slumpbuster when he faces Tim Hudson (8-6) in a 6:35 Central start.
