Mar 24 - Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes tries to convince umpire C.B. Buckner that an A.J. Reed drive to center is unplayable at the outfield fence but Buckner is not fooled. Reed jogs home with an inside-the-park homer to start an 8-5 victory. Dallas Keuchel tosses five shutout innings.

Dec 15 - Astros sign 40-year-old outfielder Carlos Beltran to a one-year deal for $16 million.
