Official MLB Broadcasts
(requires registration)

Spring Training games are broadcast in Houston on 790 AM, KBME. This stream is always available and free. It stops after Spring Training. Click on "Listen Live". Occasionally, KRTH will carry a spring game, which is also free.

For regular season games, MLB is trying to force everyone to pay for online access to streaming audio descriptions of baseball games from the local radio stations, which are free to local radio listeners. Currently, if you want audio only, it's $15 a season. Audio and video both run you $100 a season.

As part of this effort, MLB is strong-arming the radio stations to disable their Internet streams during Astros games.

A few stations refuse to comply. Sadly, most have knuckled under, but even they occasionally forget to disable their streams. This creates a patchwork of support, but it's almost always worth looking into. Usually, *one* of them is streaming a game, even if inadvertantly.

For regular season games, as late as 2005 KTRH often forgot to disable their online feed during Astros' games. Their streaming audio for other than Astros' games is free, but the availability of Astros games is iffy. Sometimes you get dead air. Go to KTRH, then click on "Listen Live"

If you are having trouble finding an online feed for the Astros games, you might want to try some of these Astros affiliates, although we cannot guarantee they will be carrying any particular game. If there is a "listen" link for the station, clicking it will directly start their audio feed.

Update: in 2005, KOGT and WTAW were the best bets.
